kick off meeting for the CLIMALERT platform

Yesterday, September 30, the initial meeting for the creation of the CLIMALERT platform took place in Barcelona. CLIMALERT is a European project focused on droughts, forest fires and floods in the SUDOE region (Portugal, Spain, and part of France). hyds was commissioned to develop a platform for managing these risks based on the scientific results of the project.

CLIMALERT is an Interreg project that proposes an early warning service for water-related climate risks (droughts, forest fires and floods). The project has 6 partners from the SUDOE area:

  • ACMG: Association Climatologique de la Moyenn-Garonne (France)
  • CDA24: Dordogne Chamber of Agriculture (France)
  • NEIKER: Basque Institute for Agricultural Research and Development (Spain)
  • CSIC: Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (Espanya)
  • IMIDA: Murcian Institute for Agri-Food Research and Development (Spain)
  • CIM Viseu: Intermunicipality of Viseu Dao Lafoes (Portugal)
  • DGSCE: General Directorate of Citizen Security and Emergencies of Murcia (Spain)

hyds has been commissioned to implement this service through an operational platform, as is done with Argos services. The platform will feature real-time data from different countries, tailor-made alerts and specific algorithms developed by partners.
