hyds presents Argos as a finalist for The Global Water Challenge at the Tech Spirit in Barcelona

hyds has presented the Argos platform as one of the 5 finalists of the Global Water Challenge in Barcelona. The Global Water Challenge is an initiative of go:hub, together with IBM, Acció and Tech Barcelona to seek Startups with disruptive technology solutions that can help make decisions that anticipate major problems in the water environment (Improvement of agriculture and food production, smart water, Efficient infrastructures, Combat drought and diminishing water reserves, ocean care, preventing natural disasters and desertification, etc.). Finalist companies receive benefits such as access to a network of experts and mentors, working with the best partners that combine business and innovation leadership, support to give visibility and drive the commercialisation of proposals. The winning proposal receives up to € 3M investment.

The event was organised within Tech Spirit Barcelona, ​​a benchmark event for the local innovative community with a global outlook and ambition.

 

  

hyds participates in the General Assembly of the H2020 RECONECT project

hyds participates in the General Assembly of the H2020 RECONECT project, held once again online due to COVID19 travel restrictions.

At this meeting, hyds presented the progress made in the “Reconect Services Platform”, which will be the central IT platform of the project for the monitoring of NBS (natural based solutions) for hydrometeorological risk reduction.

hyds uses the Argos platform to centralize the information of the different pilots in the pillars water (quantity and quality), nature (habitat and biodiversity) and people (socio-economic and well-being) in a way that allows the monitoring and evaluation of NBS in all aspects.

 

   

Meeting in Agen with ACMG and CDA24

In the framework of the CLIMALERT project, hyds visited Agen (France) to learn about the two local partners, ACMG(Association Climatique de la Moyenne-Garonne et du Sud-Ouest) and CDA24 (Chambre D’Agriculture de la Dordogne). Both are devoted to support agricultural activities with research and technology and, in this sense, they are commited to make CLIMALERT platform a turning point in their services.

hyds presents Argos at the Smart City Expo World Congress

As winners in the Smart Catalonia Challenge competition, hyds has had the opportunity to present the Argos services platform at the Smart City Expo World Congress held these days at the Fira Barcelona venue.

With more than 10,000 attendees and 400 exhibitors, the Smart City Expo World Congress is the world reference congress for Smart Cities that this year has recovered the face-to-face format interrupted by COVID19. Under the lines of technology, energy, environment, mobility, governance, inclusion, economy, infrastructure and security, the latest solutions for smart cities are presented.

Under the title “Argos: Hydrometeorological Emergency Warning and Management System“, hyds has presented the Argos platform and its application for cities: Argos City. Argos City allows early warning and management of emergencies of meteorological origin in cities in a detailed and integrated way, this being a growing need in cities in the face of the climate emergency.

 

Argos implementations

In the last year, the Argos platform has experienced a significant growth in implementations, among which we can highlight:

Argos, the solution for civil protection, has been implemented in two clients:

  • The CENEM (National Center for Monitoring and Coordination of Emergencies). The Argos platform has served as the basis for the creation of the RAN (National Alert Network). The RAN intends to concentrate all the state information at the risk level of the various public agencies.
  • The CECAT (Operational Coordination Center of Catalonia). Argos has been implemented as a service to support emergency management throughout Catalonia.

Argos City, the solution for cities, has been implemented in more than 30 clients:

  • In a service together with SUEZ and the Alicante Provincial Council, Argos City has been implemented in 34 municipalities in Alicante, mainly in the Vega Baja of the Segura river.
  • In the city of Terrassa (Barcelona, ​​Catalonia) to monitor, alert and help in the management of possible emergencies to various critical elements located in flood areas.

Argos Site, the solution for private activities, has been implemented in more than 20 clients:

  • Argos Site has been implemented in 20 campsites and a supermarket in the Tordera delta (Girona), allowing these users to activate their self-protection plans based on the alerts generated by Argos.

Argos Flow, the solution for the management of forecasted flows in reservoirs:

  • Argos Flow has been put into service for the ACA (Agència Catalana de l’Aigua) providing a probabilistic flow forecasting service for reservoir management that has been implemented in a large part of the reservoirs of the internal basins of Catalonia.
