Argos City implemented in 34 municipalities in the province of Alicante

hyds, through a project for SUEZ with the Diputación of Alicante, has implemented Argos City in 34 municipalities of Alicante, mainly in the Vega Baja of the Segura river.

The Vega Baja del Segura has traditionally suffered periodic floods that have caused fatalities and major economic damage (for example, those recorded in the years 1651, 1879, 1946, 1973, 1987, 2016, 2019).

The latest ones, in September 2019, were extremely devastating (see the video below and the links at the end of the article).

With the aim of providing the municipalities of La Vega Baja with an early flood warning system and help in their management, the Argos City system has been implemented in the municipalities of: Albatera, Algorfa, Alguenya, Almoradí, Aspe, Benejúzar, Benferri, Benijófar, Bigastro, Callosa de Segura, Catral, Cox, Crevillent, Daya Nueva, Daya Vieja, Dolores, Elx, fondó de les Neus, Pinós, Formentera del Segura, Granja de Rocamora, Guardamar del Segura, Hondón de los Frailes, Jacarilla, los Montesinos, Orihuela, Pilar de la Horadada, Rafal, Redován, Rojales, San Fulgencio, San Isidro, San Miguel de Salinas and Torrevieja.

Adding up a total of approximately 650,000 people under the follow up of Argos City!
