Web designer
Hyds provides meteorological information through web-based visualization systems to its clients. This information has to be visualized in a way that fosters easy interpretation and deicision making. Hyds is currently seeking a student to further develop the design and visual aspect of its online applications and web services. This implies enhancing the information content of the meteorological information displayed and its interpretation through state-of-the-art visual communication concepts.

Post-Doc in Hydrometeorology
Job Summary:
Research activities in the framework of a FP7 PEOPLE PROGRAMME (Industry-Academia Partnerships and Pathways) project focused on the scientific and technological development of an end-user oriented application in the field of aviation meteorology.
Job Description:
The applicant will be incorporated to perform R&D activities planned in some of the Work Packages of the project, mainly associated to the identification of weather hazards in winter conditions. The major tasks will be related to the development of several algorithms to detect, track, nowcast, and forecast specific winter phenomenon, as heavy snowfall or freezing rain. The activities will make extensive use and processing of real-time observations from different data sources (satellite, radar, lightning sensors) with nowcasting tools and forecast data from numerical weather prediction (NWP) models. The candidate would ideally have a solid experience in the field of meteorology and particularly in the development of algorithms for weather radar data (single and dual polarized) and other sensors and in the intensive use of meteorological data, together with good programming skills.
